Puff Pastry for Tarts & Pies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250 ml) cake and pastry flour
  • ½ cup (125 ml) sweet (unsalted) butter, chilled
  • ¼ (60 ml) cup ice water

Instructions:

  1. Mix (with hands) all ingredients, chill well
  2. Roll out on floured surface, fold like a handkerchief
  3. Chill again well, and repeat above step several times until pastry is smooth and can be cut into 6 rounds

Serving Recommendation: Vanilla Ice Cream:

Yield: 6 Individual Pie or Tart shells, or 1 large pie shell
